So Sorry

Dear Friends

I just wanted to apologize for my blog lately. I had very big expectations around Valentines Day with my date in the box gift, and each week I wanted to share with you the great fun different ways that my husband and I have gotten to bond and date each other all over again. Unfortunately (or not) we only made it through around 3 dates before I started getting really sick and exhausted and was in bed around 8 pm every night and at that time we learned that Witherup #3 will be making an appearance around the end of October. So we are very excited about this event as much as a shock it was to us. I have also been beyond sick and just trying to survive these last few weeks. I seriously do not know how some women have more than 3 children. So hopefully in a few weeks my energy will return, the sickness will go away, and my husband will no longer feel like he is a single dad trying to take care of me and the boys ha! I hope to start those dates up again because I am ready for my life to feel somewhat normal again (although as a mom when does that ever happen huh?)

If any of you mommies out there with 3 or more children have any tips on how to survive right now they are greatly appreciated. I know they say having the third child is not hard, but I am very nervous about this. I hope you guys have a great Monday!
Love
Beth

Soren Israel

My sweet Soren. He has been such an easy child from the beginning. After 3 hard pushes comes this large (8lbs 10ozs) screaming bundle who gets quiet as soon as they hand him to me and I say hi, he just grabs my finger and looks into my eyes. Wow what a powerful moment and since then he has been pretty quiet and just as easy going. Soren is my little comedian, always trying to make everyone laugh. He calls himself Sorse and absolutely loves his big brother Asher. His big love right now is any type of sport, in fact I can hardly get him dressed in the morning unless his shirt has a ball on it. Every morning he wakes up wanting his milk and peanut butter.

Soren is my little snuggle boy, at any point during the day he will climb up in my lap for a big hug and will just snuggle up to me. He can't stand for anyone else to be in my lap and gets extremely jealous when I hold other babies. He loves his daddy, and is the first to run up to him when he comes home and just throws his arms around his neck. His first word for Steve was appi but later he started calling him daddy. I wish the words could describe how sweet this little boy is, so quick to give hugs to everyone in his family. When you are around him you just feel this gentleness radiate from him, yet he is quick to stand up for himself even at his young age (which is a lot with a big brother like Asher around). He has eyelashes that every women would be so envious of which just makes his face look so much more angelic, especially if he looks sad. He is just learning to talk more and I can't wait until he is chatting my ears off I feel like he will just have so much to say. Here are so of my favorite pictures of this guy.

My Mountain Adventure

Hi guys. Sorry it has taken so long to write a post, between having two boys with a horrible stomach virus then catching it myself things have been quite hectic in the Witherup household. So after all the craziness my mom invited us to a little mountain vacation with one of her oldest friends Frannie. It was actually more of she invited Asher to go and I didn't think I could be without him that long so Soren and I invited ourselves too.

The trip started out great until we got to the actual mountain we were staying on, then Fran's gps totally decided it wanted to take us all over the mountain. After an hour and a half on crazy curves my mom demanded that we stop at the next place so she could pee. Next thing I know we are at a hotel with no one at the front desk and my mom and Fran behind the desk looking around. I was worried someone was going to walk up and them get arrested so I went inside to see what they were doing and randomly enough we were where we needed to be. Hooray sleep at midnight for my two boys is not a fun night, I knew they were going to be up so early the next day. Thinking it was smooth sailing from there I rested my head on a pillow and passed out.

Day two starts out great with my mom letting me sleep in and I wake up to them talking about going out and seeing what we can do. We also learned that it was supposed to snow the next day! Not good because first off my mom told me we were going to Asheville so I looked up the weather there which just said some rain and in the mid 40s. I only had some little tennis shoes and we didn't have any jackets to keep us warm or hats (I really am a better prepared mommy this was throwing me for a loop), so at that point it needed to find us some warmer clothes. Into the cars we all pile and start on the days adventure that was going to be filled with yummy food, thrift stores, and some gem mining for the boys. We get going a little bit and Fran's car starts overheating so off we go to find antifreeze, two stops later and we think we have enough (oh yes at this point it is pouring down freezing rain) and down the mountain we keep going. I notice Fran is going a little slower than usual (she is known to get a speeding ticket or two) and I feel like we are completely lost (mom said turn right when she was supposed to tell me to turn left) so at this point I am starving and Soren has fallen asleep when I see a resturant and we pull over. Good thing we did because Fran's car has broken down at this point in the parking lot. Yay for a hamburger joint at least.

After filling our faces we food and a friendly waitress who tells us the quickest way to a grocery store and a repair shop we hop back into our cars and head to the repair shop. I notice that Fran is not behind me and so I pull over and wait....she never comes, back down we go to find her. About a mile down we find her with some friendly guys pulled over who inform her the worse, she put antifreeze where the motor oil goes, and at this point her car won't even start. Oh no!!!!! Never fear, mom with the triple A, so she hops into Fran's car and Fran's daughter-in-law and Fran's sister-in-law hop into our car and off to the grocery store we go since we are all sure there is no chance we are going anywhere soon.

We are finally back at the hotel and we can relax and get dry. Frannie and my mom get back about an hour later full of laughter from their own little adventure, they are so great together. A law and order marathon for me and cartoons for the boys we are in heaven and also ready for bed. A call the next morning informs us the car is actually ok so its off to get the car and a run to the Dollar General, my boys are more than bored and fighting like crazy they need activities. Back we get and the ladies are itching to go shopping so off they go while I take a nap with Soren. They finally get back only to have the snow storm start.

We wake up so stinking hot (the boys had gotten a hold of the thermostat and it was on 86) and look outside. That little snow turned out to be huge (ok huge for us) and on the day we were supposed to leave. All the doors on the car were frozen and the snow almost reached our knees. A call to the front desk and we find out that only 4 wheel drive cars are allowed on the road and if you drive and don't have that type of car you will get a ticket. Yikes, at this point we are all ready to go home. Frannie being the brave one she is gets in her car anyway and heads down the mountain. No way am I going, we can stay the night for all I care I don't think I can drive down that. But the roads open up and home we come. I had missed my husband so much and was ready for my own bed.

So that was my week sorry there were no pictures I forgot my camera too. Hope you guys had a great week too!

Asher Blaine

I have two of the best boys a mom could ask for. It has been such a great experience getting to watch them grow up together and see how they are so different but so similar. I am an only child so this is all new to me. I find it amazing the love that my soul produces for them and how that love can be so different for the two of them.

Asher is my oldest son, and we were so suprised when we found out we were pregnant with him. Steve and I had only been married for two and a half months and all of the sudden I find myself extremely tired and just as nauseous. I swore after him I would have no more kids but then a little over three weeks early came this screaming bundle of joy who suprisingly weighed 7lbs and 5 oz. And boy did he know how to scream, morning noon and night. We were probably at the doctors office once a week with the amount of screaming he did for the first three months of his life. And then out of no where came this little angel. He was such a funny baby, so sweet and easy going.

He loved his food, his paci, books, and mostly his mommy. I know that every mom says this about her children but Asher truely is so smart. At 18 months he was speaking better than most 2 year olds and at age 3 he can already spell and write his name. He is absolutely obsessed with anything to do with the movie Cars and dinosaurs. One day I was reading a book to him trying to pronounce a dinos name and he totally schooled me by saying "no mommy its a quetzacoatlus", you try saying that three times.

Asher is also my most sensitive child, always quick to cry if his feelings get hurt. On any sad day I would have he would just get in my lap and cuddle with me. He is the child that will listen, rarely testing his limits, I'm not quite sure if that is a good thing or bad at the moment. He is very shy when it comes to strangers but will charm the pants off of you when he gets to know you. Asher is also my most cautious child never quick to jump into something he knows nothing about, and I have no clue where he gets that from. He truely is a little version of his father which I love so much about him. Each day with him is always a new adventure, sometimes extremely frustrating, but mostly so much fun. Here are some of my favorite pictures of him, enjoy!
